Antrim’s Festival of Trees

For the past 10 years, Antrim’s town library has celebrated the beginning of the holiday season with their Festival of Trees. For an entire month, the festively decorated library welcomes visitors from near and far to view the trees created by community members. We’ve picked out a few of our favorites from this year’s 10-year anniversary to give you a taste:

A tiered tree filled with clay figures on each level
One of the most unique – and colorful – trees!

In the children’s’ reading room many of the trees here were decorated by little hands, some of whom pitched in with their entire classroom.

A table full of treats in front of a room where a live band plays for a small audience
A treat to find during the open house were all the snacks and live music.

November 30th was the open house for the event, which featured live music and snacks surrounded by some gorgeous trees.

A wreath decorated with blue ribbon and gold snowflakes
Adorning the halls and a few of the stacks, these wreaths add to the holiday flare.

And it’s not only trees…Many people decorated wreaths with winter scenes and much more.

A dim room of library bookshelves with blue christmas lights on the ceiling
A picture can’t do this justice! The lights glow behind the books as well.

The library itself is a treat to visit, as the hard-working folks there had transformed every nook and cranny to reflect the season.

A Christmas tree is decorated with tropical plants and flowers, while a dinosaur head pops out of the top
This jurassic tree has a little toothy friend for a topper!

Some of the trees at the library are extremely unique. This one’s topper was a hilariously fun surprise.

A quilted christmas tree made out of white snowflakes on a blue background
The stunning quilt being raffled.

This year you can enjoy the Holiday Quilt and Crafts displays throughout the library as well. The library hosts this event entirely free of charge and solely for the enjoyment of all. Visitors can always enter in their raffle to win a beautiful quilt from the Monadnock Quilters Guild.

Another aspect of the fun is voting for your favorites in a variety of categories. You may participate in favorite voting until December 14, and attend the Festival Gala & Meet the Artist Night that evening to find out the winners. You can visit Mon & Wed 2-6pm, Tues & Thurs 2-8pm, Fri 9-12 and Sat 10-4 throughout the month of December.
