Peterborough Folk Music has been part of our community for over 20 years!

The Peterborough Folk Music Society brings phenomenal folk musicians for concerts throughout the year. Founded after the closing of Peterborough’ legendary Folkway coffeehouse that showcased folk music concerts, the Peterborough Folk Music Society has continued its mission to bring premier artists to the Monadnock Region. Concerts are usually held at either the Peterborough Players playhouse, Bass Music Hall in downtown Peterborough, or at the Deb’s House in Chesham. All three venues have their own charm, giving concert goers of all ages a unique experience every time.

The Folk Music Society often brings back familiar faces to Peterborough for their concerts, such as Jonathan Edwards, Tom Rush, Garnet Rogers, John Gorka, and others. They also present amazing new artists opening the door to new fans. In April alone, there will be  three concerts – On April 8th, Joe Crookston will be performing at Bass Hall in downtown Peterborough. Then, on April 27th, The Steel Wheels (link) will come back to town to perform at The Peterborough Players playhouse. Finally, you can catch Jim Rooney, Pat Alger and Chris Brashear at Deb’s House on April 28th. Be sure to check the links for info and buy tickets to these three concerts.

Le Vent Du Nord is a folk French Canadian group that draws a crowd every time they come to town.

Last year, I took a friend to an amazing concert by Le Vent Du Nord play at the Peterborough Players.  We joined the rest of the audience with dancing and clapping.  The band and venue combined to make our evening an intimate experience.
