For that someone on your list with a sweet tooth, head over to Ava Marie’s Chocolates or Vicuna Chocolate in downtown Peterborough. Ava Marie’s has such a great selection of handmade chocolate gift boxes that’ll satisfy anyone’s cravings. Have an artist in the family? Be sure to check out Peterborough Art Academy and Steele’s Stationary for loads of art supplies and other fun finds. There’s also Knitty Gritty Yarn Shop, which will spoil any yarn enthusiast with their wide array of beautiful yarn and accessories. Bowerbird & Friends, Main & Grove, and Remarkable are some amazing consignment and antique shops right downtown that are sure to offer a unique gift. I found creative and unique ornaments at Bowerbird myself!

For all the little ones in your life, check out Nest up on Grove Street. Games, toys and other gifts will surely be a hit! Over at Joseph’s Coats and the Mariposa Museum’s shop, you can get a beautiful fair trade gift for your loved ones. The Sharon Arts Gallery’s shop is another great stop for handmade, local items from artists. Underneath it All has a wide array of cozy loungewear and intimates as well as gift items meant to pamper. Minutes from downtown along Route 101 make sure to stop at Black Swan Gifts. Inside you’ll find such a variety that it’ll be hard to walk out of the store without finding at least one thing for someone, and possibly yourself. There are bags, candles, jewelry and more to peruse and fill up your basket. Up the road at Twin Elm Farm, you’ll be in awe of their selection of consignment, antique and holiday items.

If you’re looking to save time on wrapping while supporting a good cause, head over to 20 Depot Square (3rd floor) on December 15th from 10am-5pm where Monadnock Humane Society is ready to give you a jump start on getting those presents tied up with bows with a donation of your choice. There will also be people about downtown caroling to really bring in that festive spirit.
