The Monadnock Region is made for KID FUN in the winter! With winter vacations coming up, take a look at some of the great activities we’ve scouted out for you:

The new microscope at the Caterpillar Lab offers detailed close ups!

On Main Street in Marlborough, The Caterpillar Lab hosts free winter hours where visitors can learn about their programs and take a look at some of their permanent residents. Kids are encouraged to look through a microscope or excavate a log for an added bonus of fun and education!

Education is always fun at Cheshire Childen’s Museum!

The Cheshire Children’s Museum in Keene has been enriching the community and lives of their small visitors ever since 2012. A visit anytime is well worth it, but their events calendar currently highlights winter fun.

With permanent and rotating exhibits, including many that encourage hands-on exploration, The Mariposa Cultural Museum in downtown Peterborough has something for both adults and kids. Up on the third floor, kids and kids at heart can have a blast with their interactive musical instruments!

Strap on some skates and take a few laps around the Keene Ice Arena for some fun during their open ice times. From beginner to expert, all ages and experience levels are welcome out on the ice! Head here for open ice times.

Year-round family friendly programs teach visitors to the Monadnock Center in Peterborough about the history and culture of our town. Hands on activities and puzzles await in their exhibits.

An amazingly creative experience awaits at MoCo Arts.

MoCo Arts operates out of Keene to offer programs in dance, theater and multi-arts for children 18 months to 18 years. Classes that enrich the creativity of their younger students are held every Thursday during the winter months.

Want to get outdoors to experience winter? The Harris Center for Conservation Education has a variety of great programs for families and kids. In addition to adventure camps during vacation weeks, check out one time adventures like the “Owl Moon” Owl Prowl on March 13!
